Program Description
Crime Stoppers is a program that seeks the help of the community to solve crimes. When residents have information about a crime that has occurred in the City of Richmond, Henrico, Hanover, Charles City, New Kent or Goochland counties, they are asked to call Crime Stoppers at (804)780-1000. Residents do not have to give their names or testify in court. If the information is valuable to the investigation, residents can be rewarded up to $1,000.
Crime Stoppers is not funded by tax dollars. Crime Stoppers operates through donations from individuals, civic and social groups, professional associations, corporations, retailers and fundraising. Donations are used to make up local reward funds, telephone costs and other related expenses. Crime Stoppers is approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a private, non-profit organization, and contributions are tax deductible. If you would like to make a donation you can send it to Crime Stoppers, 5101 Monument Ave., Richmond, VA 23230
