Proposed DPU Installment Payments for Single Family Residential Water or Sewer Connection Charges

NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT DEPARTMENTAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

The Director of Public Utilities proposes to adopt the following departmental rule and regulation pertaining to the following matter, pursuant to Section 28-26 of the Code of the City of Richmond and other authority, and proposed to become effective October 20, 2022:

  • Installment Payments for Single-Family Residential Water or Sewer Connection Charges

The proposed departmental rule and regulation, if adopted, will have the effect of repealing and superseding any conflicting departmental rules and regulations, currently effective.

On Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., the Director will hold a public hearing at the Department of Public Utilities’ Stormwater facility located at 1801 Commerce Road, Richmond, Virginia, to hear all persons who want to comment on the proposed rule and regulation.  Parking is available at the Stormwater facility, and identification (I.D.) may be required upon arrival.  All persons wishing to speak during the public hearing must be present and must sign in to speak by no later than 10:05 a.m.  The hearing will be adjourned promptly following completion of the public comments.

Copies of the proposed rules and regulations will be available for public inspection during normal business hours (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday) from Thursday, October 6, 2022 through Wednesday, October 19, 2022 in the Director’s Office (730 East Broad Street, 6th floor, Richmond, Virginia 23219).  The proposed rule and regulation can also be viewed by clicking the link below. To receive copies by email, please call (804) 646-5200.  Written comments concerning the proposed rule and regulation may be submitted in person or by mail to the Director of Public Utilities through October 20, 2022.
