The City of Richmond belongs to all of us. To ensure RVA is truly a place where everyone feels at home, the Office of Equity & Inclusion wants to hear directly from you.
If you identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and live in Richmond, this is your space to be heard. This isn't just another form—it’s a way to tell us how safe and supported you feel and help us see where we have more work to do. We want our data to reflect the real diversity of every corner of our city.
Why does this matter?
We believe in investing in what works. Your feedback helps the City grow in four practical ways:
- Focusing on What Counts: Your input tells us exactly where our energy and resources can do the most good right now.
- Keeping Us on Track: We want to be held to a high standard. Your answers give us a clear starting point so we can show you exactly how we’re improving over time.
- Building Stronger Partnerships: We want to back the organizations that are already doing great work in the community. Your feedback helps us get resources to the right places.
- Creating Better Service for Everyone: We use your insights to train City staff and departments to be more respectful, inclusive, and helpful to every resident.

This survey is a big part of the Mayoral Action Plan (MAP). One of the Mayor’s main pillars is creating Thriving and Inclusive Communities.
