Scheduling a Probate Appointment
The Code of Virginia gives the Clerk of the Circuit Court the authority to probate wills and to qualify executors, administrators, trustees, guardians and conservators. Jurisdiction of probate is normally in the city or county where the deceased was last a resident.
You may schedule a probate appointment by calling 804-646-6540. If you are calling to schedule the probate of a will, please have the will with you when you call. The Clerk’s Office can confirm what needs to be presented to probate the will, and what fees need to be paid.
