What is it? The number of businesses provided with technical assistance by the Office of Minority Business Development in Fiscal Year 2025.

What does it take to get there? $1,063,100 requested in the general funds budget to support OMBD’s mission to facilitate, produce, and advance opportunities for Minority Business Enterprises (MBE), Emerging Small Businesses (ESB), and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) to successfully participate in the full array of contracting opportunities available in the City of Richmond by promoting and executing a wide variety of technical assistance programs.

What does it take to get there? $5,051,174 in the FY27 general fund budget to support Procurement’s staff of 37 as they fulfill the mission of Support the City by performing the procurement function in a customer-focused, strategic, ethical, and transparent manner while providing opportunities to diverse suppliers and complying with applicable governing laws and policies.

What is it? Roughly how many students Richmond Public Schools educate every year.  

What does it take to get there? $257.1 million in total FY27 proposed funding to support operating funds, which means educating students and keeping classroom staff, core academics, and support services in place.

What is it? The number of annual visits to Richmond’s parks, recreation facilities, and community centers.  

What does it take to get there? $30.5 million in proposed FY27 investments to maintain parks, recreation programs, and community spaces across the city.

What is it? The number of sworn officers funded for the Richmond Police Department.

What does that mean? RPD currently employs 604 officers. The FY27 funding will allow staff to get out, recruit, and build the department up to full capacity in order to help keep our neighborhoods safe.

What is it? The projected number of animals adopted from Richmond Animal Care and Control this year.

What does it take to get there? $1.73 million in funding for RACC staff and operations in the FY27 budget.

What is it? The total proposed FY27 general fund budget for the City of Richmond.

What does that mean? This is the pot of money that keeps the city running every day--funding police and fire response, fixing streets, maintaining parks and community centers, supporting libraries, delivering human services, and so much more for the residents of Richmond.
