Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Sludge Thickening Building Improvements
Project Summary and Scope
This project consists of the renovation of the WWTP Sludge Thickening Equipment and Facilities. The existing sludge thickening centrifuges and ancillary pump and other equipment are at the end of their useful life and require replacement.

Project Milestones
Complete Biosolids options scoping study 2nd Qtr 2017.
Begin design of improvements 2nd Qtr 2017.
Project merged with Biosolids Dewatering Improvements and designed as a single project.
Request for Qualification advertised July 2021 (for merged project) and fully closed out and approved.
Project advertised through competitive IFB process to qualified bidders on February 11th 2022. Bids received and tabulated April 29th 2022. Currently undergoing review of budgets to secure additional funding to meet received bids.
Project Funding
DPU Wastewater Utility Enterprise Funds in the amount of $10,126,000. Funds for this project were appropriated prior to Fiscal Year 2018-2019. Project is currently undergoing review for additional funding.
Project Status Updates
Project scoping study is completed. Design work for replacement of thickening centrifuges began February 2017.
