New Initiatives

The City of Richmond is committed to Vision Zero, a multidisciplinary strategy to eliminate all traffic fatalities and severe injuries while increasing safe, healthy, equitable mobility for everyone.

The City’s transportation engineering resources are primarily focused on the High Injury Network, which is made up of the 9% of our streets that experience 77% of the severe injuries and fatalities.

We invite you to complete a survey that features five projects to improve safety on the High Injury Network:

  1. Reconfiguration and Bike Lanes on Franklin Street
  2. Reconfiguration and Bike Lanes on Hopkins Road
  3. Curb Extensions on Main Street & Cary Street
  4. Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvements on Forest Hill Avenue
  5. Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon on Hull Street at 29th Street

Note: the survey closes May 17, 2024.
