A word from Mayor Danny Avula
"Richmond 300 lays out what it calls the 6 Big Moves, or actions the City should take soon that will put us on track to realizing a shared vision of a City that is welcoming, inclusive, diverse, innovative, sustainable, and equitable.
One of those big moves — in fact the first of them — details an overhaul of the City’s zoning code, calling on the City to “develop new zoning category descriptions for the entire City and then mapping the new zoning categories to every parcel in the City” in an effort to “direct growth towards appropriate areas while maintaining existing neighborhoods as well as creating new authentic neighborhoods adjacent to enhanced transit.”
Code Refresh is our answer to that call and on August 17, after two iterations and after countless conversations and community engagement, we look forward to bringing you draft three."
